We raise a small flock of Katahdin sheep that we rotate through fresh pasture during the growing season. We lamb in spring, ensuring that new mothers have access to lush new grasses and small lambs are safe from extreme cold.
In the interest of transparency, we feed our ewes and sire rams trace amounts of grain just before, during and after pregnancy and while nursing to maintain their condition and help them have access to extra calories during the winter. Our meat lambs eat grass and leaves only.
We sell lamb in late fall in halves and wholes but will also keep some individual cuts available. All our meat is antibiotic free and will be processed 4 miles from our farm at USDA inspected T&E Meats in Harrisonburg.
